A quick scan through the 3,000 comments on Maddow's debate tweet show that even viewers without their own Emmy-winning news show are pretty frustrated by the whole situation (via IMDb). Some call out Wallace for losing control of the debaters, "Chris Wallace should say, 'I'm sorry people, but we have to close this debate down because I have lost control and I have no clue how to get it back'" (via Twitter). Others came up with a far cleverer solution than simply trying to speak over the two politicians in the room, suggesting Wallace instead cut the mic of the debater not speaking to prevent interruptions: "Why can't they CUT HIS DAMNED MIC???????????" (via Twitter).

Or, of course, we could just take Maddow's suggestion to heart and let the president and former vice president duke out their differences through formal letters sent through the postal system a la Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr (via Duke University Libraries). Except we all know how that ended, so maybe not.
