Who Is Hugo On Claim To Fame Season 2? (Spoilers)

Claim to Fame season 2 contestant Hugo was finally revealed to be President Jimmy Carter's grandson due to incorrectly guessing that Chris is related to singer Elton John. So far, Claim to Fame season 2 has lived up to its promise of A-list celebrity reveals, including those of Carly (Tom Hanks' niece), Travis (Neil deGrasse Tyson's son), Jane (Dolly Parton's niece), Jada Star), Shayne (Eddie Murphy's daughter), Cole (Alicia Keys' half brother), and Olivia (Jenny McCarthy's niece). Now, Hugo joins this prestigious group.

In Claim to Fame season 2, Hugo did a great job of concealing his identity from his fellow contestants at first. He strategically lied while also playing an impeccable social game. Hugo made friends, and because of this, he was able to get information from people. Although many of the houseguests figured out his identity from his Wine Room puzzle clue, Hugo was never their target. Rather, his identity was revealed due to his own wrong guess.

Hugo’s Claim To Fame Season 2 Clues

In Claim to Fame season 2, episode 1, Hugo's "Two Truths and a Lie," were that his celebrity relative is his grandfather, an athlete who won a Nobel Prize. In his confessional, he told the audience that he lied about his relative being an athlete. He also shared that, at one point, his grandfather was the most powerful man in the world. Hugo described himself as being very smart. He's an engineer, studying both electro-engineering and math.

For Hugo's talent during the talent show, he lifted weights because he wanted to continue his strategy of making himself look athletic to make people believe his grandfather's an athlete. His fellow contestant Carly didn't buy it. Carly and Chris thought that maybe Hugo was related to Buzz Aldrin because there was an astronaut clue and a bee for Buzz. They also thought that the Nobel Prize clue might relate to Buzz.

However, in episode 3, Jane revealed she had an idea of who Hugo was since day 1. When Gabriel mentioned that someone might be related to a president, the contestants noticed the donkey on the Clue Wall, which represents the Democratic Party. Jane noticed the peanuts, which she thought could represent former president Jimmy Carter, who was a peanut farmer. However, Jane also had doubts because she thought Hugo was a little young to be the grandson of someone who was 98 years old.

Hugo's Wine Room clue was revealed during Claim to Fame episode 4. When Chris won the challenge as team captain, he pulled Hugo's clue. The clue had a finger indicating the word "come," the "&" symbol, a deer, the symbol for "in," and a police chief. It then had the symbol for "who," a farmer, and two crazy face emojis. This could mean "Commander-in-Chief who farmed nuts," which points to Jimmy Carter. However, Chris was unable to decipher the clue completely. He didn't share it with anyone else, either.

During Claim to Fame episode 5, new clues were added to the Clue Wall. Although the contestants didn't discuss it, one of them was a sign that said, "Vote." This could be a reference to a presidential election. In addition, President Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, so that's another confirmation that Hugo is related to him.

In episode 6, Chris decided to share Hugo's clue with Gabriel. They thought that the "nuts" emojis were silly faces. They knew that Hugo was related to a president, and wondered which one was known for silly faces. They came up with Donald Trump, but thought that Jimmy Carter could still be in the running. Chris later shared his clue with Monay. They finally figured out that the emojis meant nuts. Monay marveled that Jane was right from the first day. They now knew that Hugo really was related to former president Jimmy Carter.

During the Claim to Fame episode 7 challenge, Hugo's relative's dossier revealed that he is 98 years old and born in 1924 in Plains, Georgia. He is 5'10", and has kids. His known associates are Elvis Presley, Barack Obama, and Willie [redacted]. He was last seen building [redacted] in the South. His priors were [redacted] of Georgia, [redacted] in U.S. Navy, and negotiating peace with [redacted].

These clues confirmed Hugo's relation to President Carter, who has connections with Elvis, President Obama, and Willie Nelson. He also built houses for Habitat for Humanity and founded The Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. He was the Governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975, and a Georgia State Senator from 1963 to 1967. In addition, President Carter served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy, and was awarded with four medals. As president, he attempted to mediate the Arab-Israeli conflict, which resulted in the Camp David Accords, which ended the war between Israel and Egypt.

Hugo Is Former President Jimmy Carter’s Grandson

Hugo is former president Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn's grandson, Hugo Wentzel. Hugo's mother is President Carter's daughter, Amy Carter Wentzel. In 1996, she married Gregory Wentzel and gave birth to Hugo James Wentzel in 1999. They later got divorced, and she's now married to John Joseph "Jay" Kelly. Hugo's Instagram page indicates that he lives in Georgia, which is where the Carter family is from.

Hugo was so proud to announce that he was President Carter's grandson. He proclaimed that he stands for everything his grandfather does, including equal rights for everyone, and he celebrated his incredible legacy. Hugo was a strategic and entertaining contestant and an all-around great person. He will be greatly missed on Claim to Fame.
